Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

(EMDR)

Several treatments are geared towards helping people cope with trauma and improve their quality of life. These treatments include cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EDMR), somatic therapies, and prescription medications, among others.

This course focuses on Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EDMR) mainly on the following aspects: its history and dynamics, the treatment phases involved, studies and literature that backs this form of treatment, indications, contraindications, its usage in various types of traumas, side effects of this treatment and the controversies involved.
