CE Course Description

The purpose of this course is to provide education for the healthcare professional to identify, assess and treat issues revolving around human sexuality.  This course will address issues surrounding gender identification and attraction.   The course also helps familiarize the professional with issues of sexual abuse, sexual disorders and therapies available for treatment.    

This course is an online, non-interactive, reading based, self-paced, and asynchronous course.

COURSE OBJECTIVES


Upon completing this course, the participant will be able to:

1. Define what is human sexuality.
2. Explain the Sexual Development Theories.
3. Explain the concepts of sexuality.
4. Describe and define the different kinds of sexual orientation
5. Identify the difference between sexual orientation and gender identity.
6. Name the different types of sexual disorders.

8. Effectively assess sexual harassment, domestic violence, and sexual assault.
9. Apply cultural factors including those involving the same gender partners in the assessment and treatment of sexual violence, harassment, and diseases.
